Drivers Working for FTX

FTX operates and maintains the fleet of 92 Heavy Equipment Transporters (HET) in partnership with the Regular Army.

FTX Drivers, or HET Operators, deliver peacetime administrative moves of armour for the British Army.

Operators can be based anywhere in mainland UK and conduct tasks from our depots in Bulford or Catterick.

When not required for HET tasking, Operators work through third party agencies driving HGV for clients near to their home.

All of our Operators are required to be Army Sponsored Reservists and are affiliated to 19 Tank Transporter Squadron RLC, based in Bulford. Unlike normal Reservists, all SR training commitment is met as part of the FTX job.

Mechanics Working for FTX

FTX mechanics, or HET Maintainers, provide critical mechanical support to the fleet of 92 HET.

Maintainers are based in either Bulford, Wiltshire or Catterick, North Yorkshire and carry out the full range of inspection, maintenance and repair of both Tractors and Trailers to DVSA standards.

Due to the unique nature of the equipment, in-house training is provided.

All of our Maintainers are required to be Army Sponsored Reservists, cap-badged REME, and are affiliated to 19 Tank Transporter Squadron RLC.

Unlike normal Reservists, all SR training commitment is met as part of the FTX job.
