This is a FULL TIME POSITION. Salary can be over £41621 plus uplifts and bounty giving an OTE of circa £49.3k with further substantial uplifts for deployment on Major Exercises and Operational Tours.
We operate a fleet of 82 vehicles comprising a bespoke HGV designed to meet the requirements of an MoD contract to provide the Heavy Equipment Transport (HET) service. We currently have vacancies for HET Operators to undertake the peacetime movement of heavy armour, train as a military Army Reservist and complete home based commercial HGV driving activities.
Where you’ll work:
- In peacetime, Operators are based from home (anywhere in mainland UK).
- Peacetime HET driving is from UK bases in Bulford and Catterick, with a Germany base in Monchengladbach.
- You will be affiliated to 19 Tank Transporter Squadron, a Regular sub-unit based in Bulford, on completion of all Military training and acceptance as a Sponsored Reservist (SR).

What you’ll do – Your time is divided between:
- Driving tank transporters in peacetime. Your primary role is the movement of Heavy Armour on behalf of the Army. This will involve UK and some Germany travel.
- As a Sponsored Reservist you will take part in Military Training and Exercises.
- Commercial Driving home based. In peacetime, when not undertaking your primary HET driving role, you will be assigned to a driving Agency in your local area.
- Operators can expect to be deployed on Operations in military uniform for which salary is uplifted by 50%.

Skills & Qualifications required for the role:
- We are looking for highly motivated team players who are seeking a fulfilling and challenging career.
- Reliable HGV drivers who hold a C + E Licence. Commercial experience highly desirable.
- You must not exceed 6 points on your licence
- You will need to be medically and physically fit to meet the Army training requirements (click on the bold words for full details).
- Willing to work away from home when required.
- Previous Military experience desirable, but not essential. Serving Regulars or Reservists can transfer directly.

This is a FULL TIME POSITION. Salary circa £46948, plus uplifts and bounty giving a OTE circa £50.3k with further substantial uplifts for deployment on Major Exercises and Operational Tours.
We operate a fleet of 82 vehicles comprising a bespoke HGV design to meet the requirements of an MoD contract to provide the Heavy Equipment Transport (HET) service. We currently have vacancies for HET Maintainers to maintain the current Fleet of vehicles, provide support to larger tasks and train as an Army Sponsored Reservist.
Where you’ll work:
- You will work within our maintenance department based in either Bulford in Wiltshire, or Catterick in North Yorkshire with occasional travel between the sites.
- Our sites are part of Military workshop facilities, with a team can do attitude in order to achieve our company goals.
- You will be affiliated to the Regular Tank Transporter Squadron based in Bulford on completion of all Military training and acceptance as a Sponsored Reservist (SR)

- We are looking for very talented, enthusiastic HGV mechanics. All applicants must be the holder of an appropriate BTEC, City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification

Task Planning Manager
We have an opportunity for a full time Task Planning Manager based in Bulford, Wiltshire. The Company’s sole customer is the UK Ministry of Defence for the delivery of armoured vehicles inthe UK using our fleet of 80 STGO cat 3 Heavy Equipment Transporters (HET).
The Task Planning Manager is the focal point for liaison with the MOD to determine the schedule, allocateresources within drivers’ hours regulations, plan administration for the moves and gain routeclearance using the National Highways ESDAL system. The role also requires dealings withregional traffices and police forces. Office-based, the Task Planning Manager divides their time between the Company Offices in Bulford and Army HQ in Andover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure that tasks are planned in accordance with Traffic Commissioner standards for loads, routes and drivers’ hours.
- Task Acceptance: Working with the Army customer to fulfil proposed tasks considering existing tasks, priorities and resource availability, including negotiation of adjustments to make best use of assets.
- Task Resourcing: Identify available staff and plan their schedule accordingly. Liaise with the Task Execution Manager and Workshop Engineering Manager to confirm availability of HET and escort vehicles and, where necessary, maintainers to support tasks.
- Accommodation Plotting: As Operators live all over the UK, develop accommodation plans to support the tasks.
- Route Planning: Using the ESDAL system, gain route clearance for all moves including, in some instances, the arrangement of Police Escorts.
- Record Keeping: In order to support the Operations Director in performance reporting, maintain task data including loads moved, loads rejected, loads cancelled and load timings.
- Representing the Company: Spending part of the working week (currently 2 days) in HQ Army, represent the Company’s position and, where necessary, seek advice from theSenior Management Team on issues and brief on emerging plans. Represent the Company at HQ Army planning meetings.
- Duty Cover: a rotational sleeping duty, available to take out-of-hours calls (incident reporting) from Operators.
- Travel: There may be occasional needs to travel away from Bulford.

Essential Skills & Experience:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; diplomatic

- Intermediate O365 skills level
- Knowledge of Commercial Transport rules and Driver’s Hours Regulations
- A professional individual with a strong sense of Company and team loyalty

- Hold a current UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
- Willing to travel and stay away from home
- Ability to get security clearance to work on UK Military bases (facilitated by the Company)
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Previous Military experience (civilian or military)
- Knowledge of STGO requirements.
- Hold a C+E licence; commercial driving experience
- Skilled in Transport Management system or similar
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Expected hours: 40 per week.
Pay: £50k – £55k per year (experience dependant)
